The Ocean Township School District is at a critical juncture, grappling with significant financial challenges that threaten the quality of education and the stability of the community. Years of state aid reductions and reactive financial decisions have led to repeated tax increases, placing a heavy burden on residents. These financial troubles have already resulted in cuts to essential programs and staff, with potential for further reductions that could jeopardize the future of the district.

That is why I, Deborah Thomas, am running for the Board of Education. I believe the district needs strong, experienced financial leadership to navigate these challenges. With 35 years of experience in financial analysis, I have the expertise to turn this district around! I understand that the key to stabilizing the district's finances is a proactive approach—one that goes beyond temporary fixes and instead focuses on long-term, sustainable solutions.

My deep understanding of financial management will allow me to contribute effective to the Board and allow me to thoroughly examine the district's finances, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies that will prevent further cuts and stabilize the tax burden on residents. My goal is to bring transparency, accountability, and a strategic vision to the Board of Education, ensuring that the district can provide quality education while remaining financially sound.

By electing me to the Board of Education, the Ocean Township community will gain a dedicated leader who is committed to safeguarding the future of the district. My expertise and commitment to financial stability will help ensure that the district not only survives these challenging times but thrives for years to come.
